Here I am, two days over due.
Dear friends of mine, Sarah and Karyn, decided to cheer me up and take some last minute maternity photos. I was terribly grateful from the distraction of everyone asking me 'how I am doing' and random store clerks that ask me when I am due acting like I am a bomb that may go off at any moment when I answer "last Tuesday".
Even my phone apps are stalking me now... One of mine says "Congratulations!!" and another one says "you are past your due date" and nothing else where there are usually little tips, tidbits, and the estimated size of the baby now, etc.
Considering 40% of moms go over I think that programs that don't keep going for at least a bit after DD are dumb. But don't mind the hormonal pregnant lady. She may just be irrational. (lol...)
I am feeling ok, considering. He is COMPLETELY posterior, which I have found much more comfortable than the "under my right rib" position he had taken up for so long. I know it isn't supposed to be ideal for birth, but honestly, I am so much more comfortable that I think it may be fine for me. All his little limbs are facing front, which means that I feel him all the time, wiggling, and shifting all his little fingers and toes (and knees... must not forget those pointy knees!). Perhaps in the next day or so he will switch to a left side, rear position and be ready to greet the world... but for now, the idea of being able to take a walk without pain has been a nice treat.... even if I do have the gait of a very fat duck.
Apparently the little one does not want to be an Aquarius, cuz he is hanging out at least for now... so Pisces it is. ;)
What beautiful photos, Val. You are stunning, even overdue. :) And hey, what a blessing to get these photos, even if it comes with the sense of "I wish I was done!"
ReplyDeleteHang in there!

ReplyDeleteDuh I need to spell check my comments! Here we go...
ReplyDeleteVal you look beautiful, overdue or not! What great friends to try and distract you for a little while. The pictures will surely be a treasure in the months and years to come
oh, you look BEAUTIFUL!! not even kidding, you are gorgeous ♥ how special to have these photos! and what a comfy and healthy womb you must have to keep your baby boy in there just as long as he needs. i know it is hard (trust me, I KNOW!!) and the last few days are complete torture but he will be here so soon. i mean seriously, it just CAN'T be much longer, right?! ;) you are amazing. don't forget it.
ReplyDeletesending love and hugs,
xoxo,

You look truly lovely ~ the silhouetted photo is amazing! Best wishes for a beautiful birth whenever he is ready.
ReplyDeletewhat amazing photos! you look great! its fabulous to have these photos to document your pregnancy I hid from the camera!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Val! It is so nice that you have such great friends.
ReplyDeletePisces are awesome! He's gonna be all cuspy though...cuz he's coming Tuesday ;P
ReplyDeleteLol... Tuesday wouldn't be cuspy at all considering Aquarius was over today. I am kinda bummed about not having three Aquarians in the house. ;) But I am sure I will get over it and enjoy all that a new sign has to offer (I have two Cancer, a Gemini, and two Aquarians, so technically, I haven't had a 'new' sign come into our house in about 14 years).
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the compliments. :) I am feeling pretty good today. I always feel better when the sun is out. Alex and I have been cleaning the garden. I can't do much but delegate, but it feels good to be standing in the sun, getting stuff done.
Blessings,
Val
My 2nd baby was delivered posterior and there was a lot of more painful back labor but in reality he wasn't any more difficult to deliver than the others. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! What a great thing for your friends to do for you!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Val! My babies were both late and this one probably will be, too. Personally, I think they just get the dates messed up..lol! I think these babies come whenever they feel like it. Enjoy your last few moments. I always miss it a little when I don't feel the little movements. May you have a beautiful birthing experience (whenever he is ready). I can only hope that I have someone as special as you do to take such lovely photos when my time comes. You are truly blessed! Take care, Val!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous photos! What a gift.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my kids were early, so I never got to that point of not wanting to be pregnant. In fact I still yearn for that. Enjoy it, it'll be gone so fast.
The pictures are lovely! I'm sure he will show up when he wants to. Hugs and warm wishes from cyber land.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful momma! Love the black and white one the best but they are all keepers! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! It's so much fun to know that little Lucas is the one who was in there! Congratulations on a beautiful baby and hope you are feeling well and getting a little rest.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm speechless you are so beautiful...
