Ecolovies ~ Recycled Sweater Baby Booties

I have had these tiny scraps of the sweaters I made the hats from lying around for weeks now. I love them. I just had no idea what to do with them... until I got some tiny inspiration. Two friends of mine are having babies in the next while, and I thought that perhaps some woolen booties would make a perfect baby gift!

I used this free pattern to make them. The pattern is super easy to put together. I honestly am excited about how well these turned out. I look forward to many more soft sweet scraps turned into booties and perhaps even slippers for my olders.... the possibilities are endless with good quality felted wool scraps.

I put the booties, wrapped in tissue, in a basket with some organic pasta, some of my Roasted Tomato Sauce, some Dishonest Blueberry Jam, a sprig of lavender, and a card with tiny feet. The whole package seemed to be sweet and soothing, yet useful at the same time. I hope it brings my friend a smile or two.

Aww, they're so sweet. The pasta, sauce, and jam is a really nice touch, and the sprig of lavender and card really finishes it up nicely. All right, so the entire package is just wonderful! I know that if one of my friends had given me something like that when I had my son I'd probably have cried. :)
