Hidden wealth
Occasionally I am hit with how incredibly rich we are. My friend and I stopped on our way home from market last week to use a McDonald's bathroom. We didn't buy anything... we just stopped to use the facilities. And we both remarked that we are incredibly rich... as we stood there with our hands in the wonderfully hot water after a long day in the cold of Dec at market.
Right this moment, I am tearing up my carpets. There are hard wood floors underneath. It is so beautiful! I am excited and at the same time amazed that anyone would cover this up. Didn't they know how rich they were?
This time of year it is SO easy to focus on the stuff. It is so simple to try to think of what you are getting and what you want to give. It is easy to loose sight of how rich we really are.

This evening has been spent racing my very helpful teen to see how fast we can pull the amazing amount of carpet tacks out of the magically perfect wood floor underneath... watching my toddler run back and forth singing 'if you give a mouse a cookie' from the play we went to in the city this morning... waiting for my husbands paycheck to deposit in the bank... drinking tea steeped in water from our tap without worrying if it was boiled enough to kill off diseases... making squash from my garden for dinner with butter that I didn't have to milk or churn...
I feel so amazingly rich.

I feel so amazingly rich.

Thanks.
Hidden wealth is all around us, but it must be recognized as a benifit or it ends up rusted, falling apart or distroyed.
