Under the Weather

It has been a long week. I haven't been on the computer much. Even Logan's birthday party day I was stricken by a terrible headache that goes along with other body ailments like joint pain, muscle cramps, and stomach issues. I have no idea what is going on, but it is surely no fun at all.

I am guessing, honestly, that I have yet another stress related illness.

It has been a really long year for us here. I am not sure what to do, as my life, and my 'work' require me to be 'on top of it' and I am just not right now. But such is life. There are so many worse places to be than with a loving family in a safe place yet uncomfortable. It just stinks is all. The 'being uncomfortable' part of it really stinks. I hate being irritable because my head is throbbing yet again, and I can't seem to pull through it.

Started a elimination diet this morning. I am easing my way into it, but trying to go mostly raw/vegan for a while and see if that helps. I don't plan on sticking with it, as I don't think it is healthy long term, but for a while, I am hoping it can give me a boost and set my internal clock again. Gave up coffee (for the 5th time) three days ago. So far doing ok with black tea and rice milk.

I hope that this passes quickly and I can be back to myself before long. Garden season is coming... and that is good motivation to get my rear end healthy again. We shall see.

I've had a virus before that did exactly what you described. Hopefully you will feel better soon. I'm in awe of anyone who can give up coffee.

Hi Val! Stick with the raw vegan thing for at least 6 months and you'll see a difference in your health, energy, etc. It's really amazing! It's never easy to prevent and eliminate stress from our busy lives. I'll be thinking of you. :)

Oh Val, I'm so sorry. We're on day 7 of the Frog Princess' stomach virus. She'll be missing ANOTHER day of school tomorrow. I think the office ladies must think I beat her or something since she's missed more school in the past 2.5 weeks than she's attended all month!

We're doing the BRAT diet here, bland chicken, bread, rice, bananas, apples, and gatorade for some sugar/salt. Just got off the phone with the doc on call again because last night was really rough. Today we're watching for a fever again because they are starting to wonder if it's changed from a virus to a bacterial infection in her gut. I sure hope not.

Rest up and take it easy, keep that food super bland for a bit and make sure you hydrate. Hugs from little old me here in VA!!

Stress is hard to beat, but it looks like you're taking a good approach by lying low for a little while.

I hope you get to feeling better! I;ve had a lot more headaches lately, and I think it is because my more-healthy diet went out the window for the holidays and I haven't quite made it back yet.

My bakery page is on facebook...if you follow the link on the word bakery on the giveaway post it should take you there...if not you can search for Morning Glory Bakery

have you tried going gluten-free? I only ask cos one of my very good friends was having mysterious ailments and then she went to see someone referred to her by one of the parents at the school we worked at together and this person said she needed to go gluten-free and it's helped ease her symptoms. hope you feel a bit better soon.
