10 years ago today

10 years ago, two kids walked out of a hospital together. One was me, and one was my newborn son. I was 18 years old and 5 wks out of highschool. He was tiny, innocent, and the love of my life.Over the years I watched him grow as I pulled my life together... he turned into a young man with his own ideas, very strong convictions and a love of nature that is inspirational.

He has been my "mirror in the sky"...

we have grown up together.

This child was nothing less than my savior.

When I looked into his little face for the first time I realised that my life was forever changed. The beauty that he gave me not only came in the form of him, but it came in the form of a life for myself... where I respected myself as a human being, as a woman, and as an adult. He gave me reason to find that.

The last 10 years our lives have just gotten easier,
and I have never once regreted my choice to keep this beautiful child in my life.
He is a stunning light to all around him.
He is a ball of energy, dedicated and strong.
Alex has had experiences I wouldn't wish on anyone... but he has also had love.
Lots of love, and a dedicated mother who, although was young, inexperienced and challenged in many ways, adored him with all her heart.

This love I have given him is reflected in his enormous heart...
and through these beautiful blue eyes that can stop you cold.

He is the kindest soul I have ever met, and it is my privledge, as he enters his double diget years, to be called his mother.

Happy Birthday my BEAUTIFUL boy.

Happy Birthday Alex.

The man you are becoming is a joy to behold.

I am honored to be a part of that.
