Sounds like a threat doesn't it? lol! Well today, thanks to this post (I made up my own recipe), that threat came true!
Dandelion Batter
1 cup spelt flour
2 eggs
1 tea sea salt
1 1/2 tea Spike seasoning
2/3 cup of milk or enough to make the batter kind of runny.
Mix it all together in a large bowl.
Wash and spin dry the dandelion flowers.
Dip in the batter, and fry in hot oil (we used coconut oil)
Allow to cool on paper towels, and eat away.
The kids absolutely loved them! They didn't last until dinner. Weeds... who would've thunk?

Thats funny! Ive never heard of cooking them before, but okay! :)
I am in the process of putting my Mothering Three and Daycare blog private. I have alot of personal info on there and because my husband works where he does, I could potentially direct anyone directly to my house by just reading my blog(s)! I have photo's of my home and I mention names of everyone, including last names in some posts. I guess its probably not really safe doing that but I dont want to delete my blogs so I have a way of still writing in them. I just wont get any new readers...
I have always wanted to try them. How do they taste? We have had mabye a few in the yard, here or there. Never enough to cook.

They don't have much of a taste honestly. They taste like the batter. Think Tempura. That is the way these are. They are not bitter like I thought they would be though, and the kids LOVED them. They ate probably a hundred of these babies last night. And will be begging for more as soon as we get some more weeds in the yard. ;)

You rock! I love dandelions. They are my favorite flower, and now I can eat them! Hopefully this will work with a GF flour...
I have always known dandelions were edible...and have always taught the kids to know that- if they get lost in the woods or whatever they can eat certain things....we've never tried them though. Maybe we will though....:)
ha! this is fantastic!!

I would have never thought of that! I wonder if my kids would eat them?
