Here are our new additions to our fast growing family.
Our sweet baby hens!
We call them our 'flowers' because the kids and I have named them (clockwise from left) Clover, Sage, Rose,
Lilly, Violet, and Iris.
We got two of each kind, Araconas (the striped ones), Golden Sex Links (the blonde ones), and Rhode Island Reds. By the end of the summer they should be laying and running around the yard. For now, they sleep, eat, poop, and peep. And the kids are just in love.

I love ya' too much to be jealous. I am so happy for you!
Thanks!!
I am sure you can get some hens in you area Patti... right? There may be a smaller limit than mine (my last house it was 3) but I am pretty sure they can't outlaw them all together...
Love Val
Oh how cool!!!! That is wonderful, I am jealous too!!! YAY!!! They are cute.
Cool! My friends just got chickens, in this city the linit is 5. I was suprised at how fast they grow. Have fun!
I figure I will be able to allow my dh get a vasectomy and not have more children if I surround myself with animals. Just wait... when we get out to the country (eventually, but hopefully as soon as next year) I will have at least 12, and I heard there is a small vareity of milking cow too. SO tempting!!! LOL!

Awww!!! So cute! We haven't done the baby chick thing. We we got ours, they were still young, but not chicks.
I think we need to get some chicks. My kids are begging for it too, lol.
:)
Oh Laurie... you must get chicks.. they are so sweet! They are also like children. Sarahs have developed a personality that is very much like prison inmates. Any time one gets on top of the water feeder or something and tries to jump out, the others peep as loud as they can to egg them on. LOL! Mine are more docile. I have decided that until hers calm down, we will have no chicken playdates. lol... ;)
