Look what I found...

Under my carpet that is.

I spent a whole afternoon with my kids ripping it out, and then Don came around while I was at work on Sunday and took up the tack stripes that I just couldn't get done. I have to admit, those staples were a PAIN! My hands have blisters and I had nasty cramps in my rt hand from using the needle nose to pull them all out. But...

What a beautiful floor! I can't wait to show you guys what the house looks like when it's all clean and put back together!

Why on earth would someone want to cover that up?!?! Beautiful hardwood floor!

Shirley, I thought the same thing!

It has certianly kept me busy. I still need to take up the tape around the door jams, remove about two inches from each connecting area with carpet and put in the 'transition strips' to go from hardwood to the other rooms... but wow. I am so crazy excited! And JOY, I already had one wool carpet. I will need at least one more before the project is through, but this one is holding us over very well. :)

Blessings,

Val

Very nice. I ripped out all the rugs in my house and was lucky to find hardwood floors in good shape. I did have some glue to remove around the edges. I used mineral spirits to remove the glue. I can't wait to see the finished room.
Peace.

*gasp* It's beautiful!! What a lovely surprise! I can never understand why anyone would cover up such lovely hardwood floors. I'm looking forward to seeing how nicely it all turns out!!

I found hardwood in my back bedroom too. I love it but you really need rugs or slippers in the winter and the heating bill will be a bit more because you don't have the insolation the carpet and pad give.

Get ready for Dust Bunnies!

Beautiful!! Our house came with exposed wood floors and I can't wait until we're at the stage where we refinish them...they were refinished but then they painted the walls:P
