The kids LOVE s'mores. But with my intense limit on processed foods, I only allow those kinds of treats when we are camping. Since Logan has been born I don't think we have been camping once.
Fall came with a vengence here this year. Not in a bad way. I welcomed the rain and the cool mornings. But Cyan was crushed because we didn't get to go camping again this year. It is easy to see why in the eyes of an adult. New jobs, new houses, new baby (who is now 2 1/2)..... But in the eyes of an 8 year old girl, she didn't understand. "Why does moving have anything to do with not going camping?" "Why does painting the homeschool room make us not go camping??"
So this morning, when we lit a fire because our heater isn't working again, I decided to make double lemons into lemonade. I pulled out a unopenned bag of marshmallows, a box of graham crackers, and a chocolate bar from when my neice was here, and we had s'mores.
For breakfast.
Because of the limited nature of this treat, Logan had never had one. I didn't even think about it when I handed his to him and he looked at me like I was crazy. "You burn it!" he says... I tell him to just try a little bite... and:
"MMMmmm... dis GOOD!"

Sounds like a very cozy breakfast! Glad Logan liked it. I think you'll have to make those again for him. :o)

Thanks guys. :) It sure was a cute moment. Cyan was so crazy excited to be 'camping' inside. :) Fun stuff.
