I have always been an 'Earth Gym' kinda girl... The kind that gains a reasonable 5-7 lbs each Winter and shreds it off by the end of Spring just by being out, gardening, etc... but these last few years I have noticed less and less of a pull to get my butt outside in the rainy weather we so often have here. It has helped that I have had a toddler for the last... well 13 years. When I have a child get to the age of 5, some how, I have another baby, and so the toddler with wet shoes/butt/cuffs of pants thing starts all over again. And with the kids being homeschooled, and me having to find time to plan, set up, etc...... well, the kids are outside a lot. But I am not.
I was in need of some butt kicking. So The Man and I bought a treadmill two weeks ago. It arrived yesterday and after cleaning out our garage (which was no small feat and we took a huge van load to the thrift store) he and Alex put it together. This morning was my first workout on the treadmill. 20 minutes at a very brisk walk this morning, and my new routine is started. I think this will jump start a whole new schedule for me... something that has been sorely needed. The kids found reasons to love it too. :)
